The Best Travel Tips For A Luxurious Belize Vacation

Foreign countries often present foreign challenges, but no holiday destination should be too challenging when it comes to planning a trip. Belize is one of those special places that combines beauty, nature and culture that you. It is truly a paradise for a nature enthusiast like you, but what if you want an element of luxury to go with that?

Forget about stress, enjoy your vacation in style, because we’re here to help you in planning your Belize vacation.

Find somewhere for an amazing stay

If you really want to experience the best of your Belize vacation, you can start things off by checking out some of the most amazing and luxurious Belize vacation rentals that will really turn your stay in Belize into one with memories that will last a lifetime. Imagine the joy of having your own private beach or jetty in one of the most picturesque countries on the planet. In fact, it is even possible to secure yourself a beautiful small island for you to stay in. One of the greatest things about Belize is that it sits on the incredibly beautiful Caribbean Sea, which is well known for its picture perfect aqua waters. Sitting in a luxury villa or house is without a doubt one of the best ways to enjoy this amazing place. Even better is getting your own private island, which for many is simply a dream come true. I really couldn’t imagine a better place to do this. You can have it as isolated as you want and that is why this place is so versatile for the secluded luxury adventure or a more social one.

Something to keep in mind: have your passport ready.

If you’re traveling to Belize, visitors need to possess a valid passport for at least three months after the date of arrival plus a return ticket. A visa is not required for citizens of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union, Caribbean and Central American Countries. On the other hand, visitors from other countries must check for information or requirements on how to obtain a visa for Belize. The standard 30 day stay is the norm here and to find out more information about organising a visa it is best to contact your embassy or visit the tourism board website of Belize.

Enjoy the mouth watering cuisine

Belize is blessed with the beautiful Caribbean sea surrounding it and this means an abundance of fresh fish and seafood. It doesn’t get any fresher than this and naturally, this ensures that you will enjoy some stunning food. Think of all the oysters, lobster and all the fruits of the sea that you could possibly eat.

One of my favourite restaurants for some truly stunning cuisine is the Bistro at Maya Beach Hotel on the Placencia Peninsula. Here you can enjoy great dishes like snapper ceviche or lobster bread pudding. Naturally, these are more adventurous dishes, but if you want there is always the traditional dishes like grilled fresh fish and the like.

Truly relax

Not every holiday needs to be about being out and about the whole time and often the best ones are when you get the opportunity to truly get out and do nothing. Relaxing on the beach or by the pool is one of the best pastimes that you could possibly imagine.

Of course, a step further would be to enjoy the spa amenities that Belize has to offer and there is certainly no shortage of this, with a number of people coming here to relax and enjoy some time away from their busy lives. Treat yourself and enjoy a massage or a spa treatment (or two). There is nothing quite like waking up and heading to the beach to relax, followed by some snorkelling (to see all the colourful tropical fish and sea life) or diving and then a spa treatment in the afternoon  followed by an amazing meal and sunset. This is truly the place to enjoy all these things in the one day!

Other things to do

We already mentioned that there are some amazing opportunities to swim, snorkel and scuba dive, but there are just so many places to do this. The Great Blue Hole is perhaps the finest example of this and is actually considered to be one of the top scuba diving destinations on the planet by many. The hole itself is a huge circular submarine sinkhole that measures over 300 metres across and over 120 deep. It truly is a sight to see and is something that you will not forget.

The Hol Chan Marine Reserve is also worth visiting and is a well known spot where you can really get up close and personal with the wildlife amongst the coral reefs, mangrove forest and seagrass beds. One area of particular interest is known as Shark Ray Alley and here a number of species of sharks and rays gather. The shallow waters mean that you can snorkel and observe these beautiful creatures.

One other attraction I really appreciate is the St. Hermans Blue Hole National Park. This is a great place to see caves, swim in a blue hole or just enjoy the expansive array of wildlife, such as the 200 species of birds or the big forest cats like the jaguar and ocelot. This is paradise, so cherish every minute that you have in this wonderful park.
